What is Flu?

Flu is caused by a virus which can quickly spread from person to person.

Normally more active in winter, it is an illness which can make even able-bodied people feel poorly.

Many people will be able to beat the flu within a few days.  However, those considered to be 'at risk' could develop complications or further illness.  These people can include the elderly and infirm, young children, and pregnant women.
